According to Hood (2018), “individual nurse and employing organization factors can facilitate research utilization and evidence-based practice in the clinical practice setting” (p. 266). Fall prevention strategies is a nursing care issue; I will like to see change through EBP. Falls can cause prolong hospital stay, utilization of resources, and can be expensive for the institution. In my unit, we have had four falls for the year because someone forgets to turn on the bed alarm or may disregard the fall risk sore of moderate for a young person. According to Joint Commission (JCO), Sentinel alert event (2015),  “Patients of all ages are at risk for falls due to physical and physiological changes or ailment.”

One of the ways I can research evidence-based practice is by using CINAHL complete database on the library guide. I will formulate a question such as strategies nurses can use to prevent fall in the hospital setting, since it is EBP I am interested in, I will ensure it is selected at the bottom of the screen. Several EBP articles will pop up; as a result, I will have to tweak my research several times so that I can get the best realistic results to suit my work environment. Prior research method, along with EBP, has shown to assist nurses and other providers decrease the frequencies of falls (Nevada state college, 2018).
