Personal Leadership Philosophies NURS-6053 Assignment
NURS 6053: Interprofessional Organization and System Leadership
I am a nurse committed to providing compassionate care and upholding the highest ethical standards. My CliftonStrengths Assessment revealed five strengths: Relator, Strategic, Learner, Analytical, and Responsibility. I am driven to develop and strengthen my communication skills and responsibility to collaborate more effectively with others and become a more productive and successful individual. My development plan includes practicing active listening, participating in group discussions, taking ownership of my work, and staying organized and focused. The aim of this paper is to explore my leadership philosophy by looking at my core values, my strength assessment results, and my development plan.
Core Values as a Nurse
My core values are compassion, respect, integrity, collaboration, and excellence as a nurse. I believe in providing compassionate care that is based on respect and kindness. I am committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and always acting with integrity. I collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes. I am committed to excellence in all aspects of my practice.
Mission and Vision Statement
My mission is to provide compassionate and excellent care to all my patients. My vision is to create meaningful connections with others and become a more confident and booming individual who will continue to improve myself and influence those around me to strive for excellence.
Clifton Strengths Assessment
My CliftonStrengths Assessment revealed five strengths in my profile: Relator, Strategic, Learner, Analytical, and Responsibility. As a relator, I am focused on creating and maintaining relationships with others (Rath, 2007). I am driven to build strong connections and create a sense of community. Being strategic means, I can look at problems and develop creative solutions. I can think about the big picture and pay attention to the details. Being a Learner means I am always looking for new knowledge and skills, and I am motivated to continuously grow and develop (Duggan et al., 2015). Analytical means seeing problems from multiple angles and breaking them down into parts. I can identify patterns and draw meaningful insights from data. Finally, Responsibility means I am reliable and take ownership of my work (Rath, 2007). I can stay focused and complete tasks, even when faced with challenges or obstacles. These five strengths make me a well-rounded individual who can think critically and work effectively with others Personal Leadership Philosophies NURS-6053 Assignment .
Behaviors to Strengthen.
The two key behaviors that I wish to strengthen are my communication skills and responsibility. With analytical strength comes the challenge of communicating one’s analysis fairly. Also, with responsibility as a leadership strength, one must find ways to manage time effectively, learn to delegate tasks, and not take on more than one can handle, which could lead to burnout. Communication is a vital component of care at every level of nursing practice (Jankelová & Joniaková, 2021). Developing proper communication skills means communicating my thoughts and opinions clearly and concisely (Bullington et al., 2019). This includes being able to listen attentively and respond in a respectful, productive way. It also means being able to recognize and understand different points of view. Effective communication also involves positively and respectfully resolving disagreements with others. According to Broome and Marshall (2021), responsibility is also an important skill to develop. This means staying focused and completing tasks, even when faced with challenges or obstacles. It also involves being accountable and taking ownership of my work. It is essential to be reliable and trustworthy and to be able to work independently as well as in groups. By developing these two key behaviors, I will be able to collaborate more effectively with others and become a more productive and successful individual.
My development plan includes two main goals: improving my communication skills and increasing my responsibility. I have also incorporated the feedback from my colleagues, who suggested improving my communication and responsibility skills to make me a better leader. To improve my communication skills, I plan to practice active listening and responding in a respectful, productive way when engaged in conversation. I will try to understand and appreciate different points of view. I will also improve my public speaking skills by speaking more in meetings and participating in group discussions. I will set deadlines and follow through on my commitments to increase my responsibility. I will also take ownership of my work and be accountable for my actions. Lastly, I will strive to stay organized and focused on the task.
I plan to use the development plan outlined above to achieve my vision. I will practice active listening when engaged in conversations, which will help me better understand and appreciate different points of view. I will also improve my public speaking skills and make an effort to speak up more in meetings. Furthermore, I will keep myself organized and follow through on my commitments. By developing my communication skills and responsibility, I will create meaningful connections with others and become a more confident and booming individual.
Nurses are responsible for providing quality care and should know their strengths and weaknesses to succeed. Setting objectives to improve areas of weakness is essential, as it helps nurses become more confident and booming individuals. Tools such as the CliftonStrengths Assessment can be used to identify and understand one’s strengths, which can be used to create a development plan to help achieve personal goals Personal Leadership Philosophies NURS-6053 Assignment. Additionally, self-reflection is an integral part of the development process, as it helps nurses be more aware of their strengths and weaknesses and develop the skills needed to succeed.

PERSONAL LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHIES
Many of us can think of leaders we have come to admire, be they historical figures, pillars of the industry we work in, or leaders we know personally. The leadership of individuals such as Abraham Lincoln and Margaret Thatcher has been studied and discussed repeatedly. However, you may have interacted with leaders you feel demonstrated equally competent leadership without ever having a book written about their approaches.
What makes great leaders great? Every leader is different, of course, but one area of commonality is the leadership philosophy that great leaders develop and practice. A leadership philosophy is basically an attitude held by leaders that acts as a guiding principle for their behavior. While formal theories on leadership continue to evolve over time, great leaders seem to adhere to an overarching philosophy that steers their actions.
What is your leadership philosophy? In this Personal Leadership Philosophies NURS-6053 Assignment, you will explore what guides your own leadership.
