Below are the directions for this assignment. Attached is the direction for the lesson plans needed.

Develop a series of four lesson plans comprised of different strategies for teaching adolescents to decode words. Each lesson should address one of each of the following decoding-related skills: Greek/Latin words, affixes, phonics, and syllabication. Use standard lesson-plan format.
Write an essay of 500-750 words on the following:
Identify two effective pedagogical strategies to decode words using knowledge of phonics, syllabication, and word parts. Analyze, appraise, and explain why you think they are effective.
Using examples, explain how you would transition adolescent students into writing by linking any two of the lesson plans developed for this assignment with two writing activities that further support the lesson content.
Support all of your ideas with citations from your readings. Use the GCU eLibrary for additional peer-reviewed articles that can be used in support of your content. Cite a minimum of five academic sources.
While APA format is not required for this assignment, solid academic writing is expected and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
