Political participation is an activity that encompasses many different activities used y the citizen to influence the policies and selection of the political leaders. It should be noted that political participation primarily derive from the citizens’ freedom to assemble, speak out, and associate; the opportunity to register as candidate, to campaign, the ability to take part in conduct of public affairs, to be elected as a political leader and hold office at every level of government. It is noteworthy that political participation usually extends beyond political parties. However, people can involve in various aspects of electoral process through independent actions considerably at local level and through joining or taking part in civil societies. Trade unions, professional networks, non-government organizations and media offer useful avenues for ensuring political participation.
